Rabbi Phyllis Berman teaching Torah theme-based aliyot to make the Torah service come alive!

Rabbi Shefa Gold is a leader in ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal and is the director of C-DEEP ~ Center for Devotional, Energy and Ecstatic Practice in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. She received her ordination both from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and from Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Shefa composes and performs spiritual music, has produced eight albums, and her liturgies have been published in several new prayerbooks. She teaches workshops and retreats on the theory and art of Chanting, Devotional Healing, Spiritual Community building and Meditation. Shefa combines her grounding in Judaism with a background in Buddhist, Christian, Islamic, and Native American spiritual traditions to make her uniquely qualified as a spiritual bridge celebrating the shared path of devotion.

Rabbi Arthur Waskow is the director of the Shalom Center. He is the author of Godwrestling and Godwrestling -- Round 2, as well as Seasons of Our Joy and Down-to-Earth Judaism, and is the co-author of Tales of Tikkun: New Jewish Stories to Heal the Wounded World. He is the Torah-teacher-in-residence at Elat Chayyim, and a Pathfinder of ALEPH. In 1996, Waskow was named "Wisdom Keeper" by the United Nations at the Habitat II Conference in Istanbul.

Rabbi Jeff Roth , a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, is a co-founder and executive director of Elat Chayyim. He is a regular facilitator of Shabbatonim and holiday retreats. He co-leads Jewish mindfulness retreats with Sylvia Boorstein, does meditation workshops around the country and is a trainer with David and Shoshana Cooper in the Jewish Meditation Advanced training program.
Hazzan Jack Kessler
Rabbi Phyllis Berman, an Eyshet Hazon (Woman of Vision) is the Director of the Summer Program at Elat Chayyim. She is also an inspirational leader of prayer services. She is a board member of ALEPH, is the founding Director of the Riverside Language Program, an intensive English language school for adult legal immigrants and refugees, as well as teacher-trainer for Counseling Learning Institutes. She co-authored Tales of Tikkun, Getting Into It, and numerous articles about life rituals.
